PRESIDENT & CHAIRPERSON
Patricia K. Oliver, Esq.
Patricia K. Oliver is one of the founding board members of CLA-LA. From 2011 to 2013, Patricia followed God’s calling in her life to serve full-time as the President and Executive Director of CLA-LA. She considers her years serving full-time as some of the most rewarding of her life, overseeing 10 interns last summer and 23 interns this summer in drafting a Legal URGENT CARE Manual for attorneys to use in providing free legal services at their places of worship. Patricia is currently a litigator for the R. Rex Parris Law Firm and stepped into the role of CLA-LA’s Chair on September 1, 2013.
Patricia believes that CLA-LA is just at the beginning of what can be done to bridge the justice gap. With State Bar estimates of 1 legal aid attorney for every 8,361 potential clients, there is much to be done to develop a legal aid program that meets this need. Patricia hopes that by working with other faith-based charities and attorneys, CLA-LA will offer urgent care legal clinics across Los Angeles County in the years ahead.
Patricia specializes in complex litigation, representing employees seeking to recover unpaid wages, consumers seeking to recover overcharges, and farmers seeking to clean up problems associated with water contamination. She also has substantial experience in land-use and environmental litigation and counseling clients with respect to business issues and commercial litigation.
In 2007, Patricia was selected as a Southern California “Rising Star” in Super Lawyers, and in 2010, 2011 and 2012, she was chosen as a Southern California Super Lawyer.
